Let me be honest: I feel obligated to make a “get to know me” post as one of my first blog posts. However, I’ve got an inkling that most people don’t read these types of posts. Let’s face it: I don’t want to write a long-winded “about me” post and you (kindly) probably aren’t interested in reading it. So, I have a solution for us all.
One of my favorite things is Vogue’s 73 Questions series. So, in the spirit of celebrities who have done the 73 Questions series (such as my favorite, Dan Levy), I’ve gathered 29 random questions from this Thought Catalog post. Why 29? Well, that’s my age as of this post. I’ll answer them all as succinctly as I can, bolding the initial questions so that the ones you are interested in easily catch your eye. Here we go:
- What animal would you want to be reincarnated as? An otter – they seem to have such fun lives!
- What super power do you wish you had? Stopping time because there are not enough hours in the day.
- What did you say as a kid when asked: what do you want to be when you grow up? It varied from a teacher, cruise ship director, and a scientist that studied sharks.
- What makes you happiest? Warm, sunny days outside with my family.
- Which of the Seven Wonders of the World do you want to visit the most? I’ve visited Stonehenge, so the Colosseum in Italy is my next choice.
- What country do you most want to travel to? This is hard! I can narrow it down to three: Peru, Italy, and Japan.
- Which foreign language would you like to learn? I took Spanish in high school and need a refresher.
- What’s the most memorable book you’ve ever read? The Hours by Michael Cunningham.
- What’s your favorite color? Blue.
- If you could domesticate any animal in the world, which would you pick? Bears. The cubs are so cuddly!
- What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far? Life is short, so live it well.
- What’s the last thing you did just for yourself? I rode my Peloton bike – follow me at #Amber_Justine.
- What food do you crave more than any other? Cheese… always cheese.
- What skill do you wish you had? I wish I could write traditional calligraphy, so I’m slowly learning. Hopefully one day I’m able to add that to my packages!
- If you were a bagel, what type of bagel would you be? Everything bagel toasted with cream cheese because it’s the best bagel!
- What song lyric best mirrors your life motto? “With shortness of breath, I’ll try to explain the infinite, And how rare and beautiful it truly is that we exist.” – Saturn, Sleeping at Last
- Which pop artist do you secretly wish you could be? Dolly Parton, but I’m not keeping that a secret.
- What’s your greatest fear while swimming in the ocean? A crab pinching me.
- What’s your strangest habit? Squeezing the toothpaste tube from the middle. It’s not strange, but it is annoying (according to my husband).
- What makes you lose track of time? Reading a good book.
- What makes you hopeful? That people are becoming more aware of the injustices in the world and working to correct them.
- What are you looking forward to most right now? I’m looking forward to the wedding of my first couple!
- What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten? The pimento cheese from TASTE – I’m a simple gal.
- When have you felt most proud of yourself? There have been a few times, but I’m proud of myself right now for chasing my dreams.
- When have you felt happiest to be alive? My wedding day and the birth of my two children.
- If not blue, what color do you think the sky should be? A blush pink because it’s so pretty in sunsets!
- If not blue, what color do you think the ocean should be? A very light green that is fairly transparent.
- If you could teach your pet to say one thing, what would it be? I would teach my dog, Maui, and my cats to say, “DUDE.”
- If you could tell your teenage self one thing, what would it be? It will all work out and you’ll figure out who you want to be.
